I have been playing AOCS for 2 weeks now, first with a Creative Labs game pad that I always use for FIFA. But I found that I don't like playing this game just using my thumb. Players keep running places where I don't intend them to go.

I now installed my old Gravis Gamepad, which I used all those years ago for Sensible World of Soccer, because it has a tiny, mounted on joystick. That improved my results considerably!! But I still find running and shooting straigt ahead or down is difficult. Most of the time I play diagonally, because it's easier with this joystick. But then I only have 4 ways of play instead of 8. I also have a Sidewinder joystick, which is perfect for flight sims, but way too heavy for this fast paced footy game.

Which joystick could other players recommend so I can use all 360 degrees of gameplay? Which sticks do you guys use?

Currently Championship Soccer is limited to 8 directions. So a 360 degree stick wouldn't help you.

I personally recommend an Amiga joystick with a Amiga-joystick interface or a PC version of the competition pro. Or maybe a good gamepad, yes.

I reinstalled the Creative Labs pad, so now I have all 8 directions of play again, which is better. Still, my results drop, as I find it difficult to steer the players, I would like to play this game with a real, old fashioned joystick. Since I never owned an Amiga, I don't have an Amiga stick, I'm affraid. I'll try and find that competition pro or another light joystick.

Thanx for your reaction Andreas.
